Why are UCR Fees Different?
UCR
UCR fees can vary for two main reasons:
- Fleet Size: Using a tiered system, the program charges higher fees to carriers with more vehicles.
- Annual Adjustments: The total revenue the UCR program can collect is capped by federal law. If fees overshoot or undershoot that cap, the UCR Board adjusts rates to keep total funds within legal limits.
That’s why your payment may differ from year to year, especially if your fleet grows or shrinks.
